CANTON David Dingwell was exploring downtown Canton on a Saturday morning, the streets only trickling with vehicles and the sidewalks sparse with pedestrians.
Armed with a camera, a gift from his father, Dingwell was taking photos of the urban landscape when the Stark County Courthouse drew into the crosshairs of his eyes.
Photography had been a sporadic hobby since childhood.
But it wasn't until that day about five years ago when the local attorney's interest in the craft truly blossomed.
The courthouse and its outer jacket of rich character and unique architectural features would become the genesis for a photographic quest that has taken him across the state to visually document the exterior of all Ohio county courthouses.
The pursuit, now more than half finished, has culminated with an exhibit featuring his work at The Joseph Saxton Gallery of Photography in conjunction with the bicentennial of the Stark County Courthouse.
