Perry was appointed head coach for the West Jessamine Middle School basketball team within Nicholasville, Kentucky in early 2009. He was in the guard position for the Bluegrass Stallions, formerly of the American Basketball Association and was awarded the second team All-ABA award for the 2009-2010 season.
